Someday,
after more of our environment is destroyed,
after Mother Earth and Sister Ocean have thrown up on us,
unleashed the plastic waste to our beaches,
darkened our skies with chemicals spewed into the air,
poisoned more children’s minds with lead from rotting pipes.
Someday
after all of us have passed,
our great-grandchildren will read this report,
know what taxes were not paid by which millionaires,
what women were paid off for affairs,
what deals were made for guns,
what world economies crashed,
while individual pockets were padded,
while we worked at our jobs,
cleaned their floors,
built their walls,
made their golden toilets,
loved our children and lived our lives.
Someday,
because truth is truth,
and corruption has a way of revealing itself,
and the Universe has a way of righting itself,
We may not be here anymore.
Mother Nature may take back her wealth and power,
and start over again, anew.
