My name is Jennifer Agnew. I live near Chattanooga TN. My Great Great Grandfather was Jack Robertson Agnew. He had several brothers. My family came to America in the early 1900’s. I have an ancestry page. If anyone has any information, please facebook me – Jenny Bird Agnew – or leave a reply here and I will receive your message. Thank you for any information.

hi Jennifer, What area of the country did they settle in, do you know? I have not heard of them but the Agnews are sometimes difficult to trace. Do you have an ancestry.com membership?

The Agnews I’m related to settled in Chattanooga Tennessee USA around 1906 and were from Glasgow. We now have more information, the boat name, birth certificates, marriage certificates. My family and I have a private ancestry membership that my Mother handles as it is full of geneology for other surnames. I am the only Agnew within the membership. Sometime in the near future I’m going to have my DNA done (Not through ancestry as others have) in hopes to find more dated information. How have you become interested in the Agnews? You are my first response here. Thank you for contacting me. JRA

There is an AGNEW DNA test only for Agnews. Do you receive the Agnew newsletter? I will send you links to both, have to look up the info. and my husband recently had surgery so I’m a little busy.

Dear JR Agnew,
Sorry for MY delayed response. I believe this is a link to the Agnew test page: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/Agnew It is through Family Tree DNA. They do surname tests. Not enough Agnews have done the test, which limits the results, but the more the merrier. Over time, it will answer questions for us. Do you have any family tree research done? Where are your Agnews from? Who knows, maybe we are related.
